About the Visiting Vet

I’m Jacquin Mitchell – ‘The Visiting Vet’. I graduated from Massey University in New Zealand in 1992 and have been working as a companion animal vet in the UK since 1998.

I set up The Visiting Vet in 2003 when I realised that many animals coming into vet practices for routine visits were stressed by simply setting foot on the premises. Their owners sometimes weren’t much calmer!

Clients who asked for special house calls found that they were too expensive. When you run a busy veterinary clinic it’s difficult to justify releasing a vet for up to an hour, for a procedure that may only take 10 minutes at the surgery. But I don’t own a surgery and have few overheads, which makes my prices competitive, especially for multiple-pet households.

I also allow plenty of time for each consultation so I never have to rush through a visit.

If you have any questions about what I do, or how I can help you please contact me, either by phone or email.
